Good food brings people together. It’s our goal to ensure that this still happens this year, even if that food must be enjoyed apart. We want you to feel comfortable and confident about eating on campus, which is why health and safety is our number one priority for every meal we serve. We have redesigned our operations to align with leading public health recommendations for food service environments, and all of our staff have received extensive training on new procedures put in place to minimize health risks to both themselves and guests.

At the caf, we have redesigned your experience from the ground up, making it possible for you to get your food while minimizing contact with surfaces and respecting physical distancing. Our chefs have developed a menu that continues to deliver exciting, healthy and flavourful choices while taking into consideration the physical changes to our environment.

The caf will continue to be an all-access facility, meaning that customers can return to the stations as often as they want while inside. However, all stations have been adjusted to be full service rather than self service in order to the number of touchpoints for guests while still providing delicious menu offerings. Each meal period will continue to include a variety of options for you to choose from. One-way entrances and exits will be clearly marked. Seating areas will be open for indoor dining this fall. Don’t forget, you can always check out the menu each day online at carleton.campusdish.com/LocationsAndMenus/.

At the Food Court, physical distancing measures include floor signage, additional sneeze guards, and more self-order kiosks have been implemented to streamline your dining experience while continuing to keep you and our staff safe. A new mobile ordering app, Hey Chef, will be available, allowing you to pre-order and pre-pay for your food and pick it up from a central station next to The Market.

In need of a caffeine jolt? Rest assured you will still be able to satisfy your caffeine cravings at Tim Hortons in either Richcraft Hall or the Athletics building, or at Starbucks in Residence Commons or the University Centre Galleria – and even better, you can skip the lineup by ordering ahead using Hey Chef!

Stay tuned through social media channels (@carletondining) and the Dining Services website for updates on open locations, hours of operation and menu offerings. Even though the way you eat on campus will be different from previous years, you can still expect the same delicious food the Carleton community knows and loves.
